An Indian-origin woman in the US, who stole 21 million pounds from her work to go shopping, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison.
Sue Sachdeva, 47, bought thousands of designer clothes that she never wore, hundreds of pairs of shoes and more than 200 handbags.
The compulsive shopper also had a holiday home in Hawaii, luxury cars and even servants.
Sachdeva stole the money from headphone make, Koss Corp., where she worked as Vice President of finance and was on the roll for 12 years.
She was arrested in December 2009 after forensic accountants went over the books. When the FBI raided her home they found 1,500 pounds price tags on dozens of dresses.
She had spent almost 1million pounds at just one posh store.
Prosecutors rejected her plea that a shopping disorder caused her to steal.um-of-two Sachdeva, who is being divorced by her hubby, pleaded guilty to embezzling the cash.
"I have lost everything dear to me," the Sun quoted her as saying in the court.
She must pay back 300 pounds a month to the firm and more than 22,000 items she bought will be auctioned. (ANI)
